What does regular apartment cleaning include?
Which tasks come up at every visit, what is usually agreed separately and which frequency fits.

Regular cleaning has one main goal: keeping your apartment consistently cared for without you having to spend your own time on it. What exactly is included is agreed individually – but there are typical tasks that are almost always part of maintenance cleaning.
Typical tasks at every visit
- Dusting accessible surfaces and furniture
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Kitchen: worktops, sink, hob and cabinet fronts on the outside
- Bathroom: washbasin, shower or bathtub, toilet and fittings
- Mirrors and glass surfaces in the bathroom and hallway
- Emptying the bins
What is usually agreed separately
Some jobs take more effort and are therefore agreed on top, for example:
- Windows including frames
- Oven, fridge or cupboards on the inside
- Washing or ironing laundry
- Tidying up major clutter
- Work on a ladder at greater heights

The right frequency
For many households, cleaning every one to two weeks works well. With children or pets, a weekly visit can make sense; in a small apartment with one person, a longer interval is often enough.
Clear agreements save time
Keep a short list of which rooms and tasks have priority. If something changes – guests are coming or a room needs more attention – the scope can be adjusted. Extra work should always be discussed beforehand.
Tip: if one extra area is added in rotation at each visit – the fridge one time, the cupboards the next – the whole apartment stays cared for without individual visits getting out of hand.
