Office cleaning: which tasks make sense daily or weekly?
A practical plan for small offices: what’s due daily, weekly and monthly.

A clean office looks professional, is more pleasant to work in and causes fewer discussions in the team. But not every task needs doing every day. A well-thought-out plan spreads the work according to need – saving time and money.
Daily or at every visit
- Emptying waste paper baskets and bins
- Kitchenette: wiping worktops, sink and tables
- Cleaning restrooms and checking supplies
- Wiping frequently touched surfaces such as door handles and light switches
- Removing visible dirt from floors
Weekly
- Thoroughly vacuuming and mopping floors
- Wiping cleared desks and shelves
- Cleaning the outside and handles of the fridge
- Removing fingerprints from glass doors and partitions
Monthly or as needed
- Skirting boards, doors and radiators
- Cupboards and shelves on the outside
- Inside the fridge and microwave
- Windows – usually by separate agreement
Small office, clear plan
For a small office with a few workstations, one or two visits a week are often enough, complemented by small team routines – such as putting dishes straight into the dishwasher. What matters is that everyone knows what the cleaning covers and what it doesn’t. For desks: cleared surfaces get cleaned; documents and personal items stay untouched.
Tip: name one fixed contact person in the office. That way requests and notes all end up in one place.
